How to Enroll in E-Bill
Before you can see your account information, you will need to login to our secure site.
Please be prepared to provide us with the following information. By properly filling out the fields specified below we will be able to provide you with the convenience of Pepco's Online Billing.
Required Fields:
- Pepco Account Number
- Service Address ZIP Code
- E-mail Address
- Username (pre-filled with account number/edit-able)
- Password
- Hint Question
- Hint Answer
Your password must be a combination of letters and numbers from 6 to 32 characters long. We suggest the following strategies for choosing new passwords:
- Choose your favorite composer, artist or musical group, then add your favorite number or
- Choose your favorite hobbies or interests, then add your favorite number.
If you should forget your password, you can click on "Get Help Here" link on the login page. You may also call customer service at 202-833-7500 during business hours.
Once you have logged in, a list of your six most recent online bill payments will be available. To see electric usage details or messages, use the scroll bar to navigate down the page.
Accessing Your Electric Bill
When you are ready to pay your bill, just click the "Pay Bill" button.
You can also click the "Customer Info" button to change your e-mail address.
Registration Information
Each time you log in, you will be required to enter your Username and Password. If you would like to pay online, Pepco needs your banking information. Pepco keeps your banking information completely confidential. Even our Customer Service Representatives do not have access to it. In addition, when you send Pepco this information electronically, security software prevents unauthorized access to your information.
The routing and bank account number should be from your checking account. When you enter your bank account information on the registration page, it is retained so you will not have to re-enter each time you want to make a payment. If your banking information changes in the future, you can update it here or if you prefer not to retain your banking information online, you can enter it each time you make a payment.
When you register, you will provide your e-mail address so you can receive an online notification when your bill is ready each month. Also, should you ever forget your password you'll be able to use our password retrieval feature.
Paying Your Bill Online - No Stamps to Buy!
Once you click the "Pay Bill" button, you'll see a description of our "Secured Payment Technology" and our "Online Payment Agreement". You can scroll down the page to the "Payment Amount" area where your balance due will be shown. If necessary, you can change the "Payment Amount". Banking information you previously entered on the "Registration" page will be shown here. Otherwise, you'll need to enter your banking information in the space provided on this page but it will not be saved for future payments.
Once you click the "Submit Payment" button, the transfer of funds from your bank may take up to two business days. The "Payment History" page will reflect the payment online immediately. Usually the next business day, all other Pepco records will be updated with your payment.
When you make an online payment, Pepco uses security software to prevent unauthorized access to this information.
If you have a Disconnect Notice and you make a payment on or after the date of the notice, you will need to notify Customer Service as soon as possible during business hours at 202-833-7500. The Customer Service Representative will confirm the payment and attempt to cancel the disconnect notice.
Paying your bill online is convenient, fast and secure. You'll save on postage and check-writing costs. Of course, you still have the option of mailing a payment anytime you want.
