Three Local Charities Will Benefit
This year's goal is to net $200,000. Proceeds will be distributed next winter to families no matter if they heat with electricity or gas through the following organizations:
Catholic Charities of Montgomery County (CCMC) assists individuals and families in need through prevention, intervention and advocacy regardless of religious, social or economic background.
Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) provides all age groups in the District of Columbia with housing, education, job placement, parental support, mentoring and many other services through advocacy and direct support.
United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP) supports Prince George 's residents with emergency food and shelter, job training and transportation services. Programs promote self-sufficiency through education.
